National Archaeological Museum of Athens, Greece: Late Neolithic pottery with colorful decoration in red, and ochre. For the typical Neolithic pottery the colors were made of copper or ochre, and different colored clays used for black and tan hues. They were fired in small kilns at temperatures high enough to fuse the metalic pigment and the clay slips to form a hard glaze on the surface.
