The ruins of the Doric temple dedicated to Apollo dominate the landscape at the oracle of Delphi, Greece. The temple was first built in the 7th c. BCE, but was destroyed by fire soon thereafter. It was re-built in the 6th c. BCE with the sponsorship of the Alcmeonidae family of Athens. A strong earthquake destroyed the temple once again in 373 BCE. It was re-built a third time in 330 BCE.
