Previous | Home | Next

This bronze statue is believed to be depicting the goddess
Artemis, and many have dated it to the middle of
the 5th c BCE. Another possibility is that it was created
during the Hellenistic era following the classical ideals.
It has also been identified as a poetress or a muse.

Bronze, 1.94m tall. Piraeus Museum.
