Location
Minies, South of Argostoli, Kefalonia, Greece.
Beach Name
Spasmata
My Rating Overall
1=beach was fine for swimming
and sunbathing one time. We visited
the beach during our stay in
the area and would not consider
it a prime attraction.
Beach
S=sand
Sea Floor
S=sand
Water
0= The water did not seem suitable for swimming
(These are just my own unscientific observation of the water
feel and appearance)
My family and I enjoy the water when it is crystal clear, and cool instead
of warm. We don' like visible floating particles of any kind or algae
settled on the beach.

the beach

Notes
The day I visited Spasmata the strong wind had made the sea very
rough. I also noticed some long black patches of black floating
matter (sea wheat?) that made the sea uninviting. There was a
row of umbrellas and sun beds on the beach near the road, but
there were only four people sunbathing and no one was swimming.
At the same time, bathers at the nearby beaches of Makris
Gialos,
and Platis Gialos were
enjoying the calm clean waters.
This beach is very close to the airport. A little more driving
around the end of the airport revealed some more small beaches
were a few campers had parked for the day, but none of these swim-spots
looked promising to return another day.
