Water

3= Very nice and clean sea. We would go swimming there again if we were in the area

(These are my, and my family's own unscientific observations of the water feel and appearance)
We enjoy the water when it is crystal clear, and cool instead of warm. We don' like visible floating particles of any kind or algae settled on the beach.

Notes

Driving through Platy Gialos town main road the beach is one block on the left. Park anywhere and walk to the beach. As you reach the end of the town, you will see signs to "Zaharou" Beach (click for picture). If you visit Platy Gialos for the fist time you will probably think that the signs poing to a nice swim spot.

The truth is that Zaharou Beach is nothing but a bar that has cemented a few rocks by the sea to place some sun beds on it. Unless you are looking for a drink don't drive down the dirt road thinking you are visiting a beach.
