GREECE BEACH

Palea Epidauros Beach

Location

Arkadia

Beach Name

Palea Epidauros (or Palia Epidavros)

My Rating Overall

0=will not return to this beach

Beach

S=sand (sandy beach)

Sea Floor

P=pebbles

Water

1=the sea water was not very inviting at the time we visited. We did more sunbathing than swimming

(just my own unscientific observation of the water feel and appearance)
My family and I enjoy the water when it is crystal clear, and cool instead of warm. We don' like to see any visible floating particles of any kind or algae settled on the beach.

Clothing

Topless sunbathing is not common

Access

Good=paved road all the way to the beach, parking near the beach

Amenities

T=town within walking distance

RV / Camper Accessibility

P= RV Room for Parking. Site suitable for parking on the side of the road for the day, but not for camping.

Snorkeling

N=does not look promising, I did not dive

Notes

This is a review of the beach to the east of the harbor. It seems like there is one more beach near the camping which we did not visit during our short stay.

Comments: I have read a rather condemning report regarding beaches in this area. However, I have just returned recently, on the 9th October 2004. The beaches are not the best but they are more than adequate. About 20 mins walk out of town are beautiful sandy beaches but the sea floor is stoney and not suitable for children. The sea is extremely clean in the whole of the Epidauros bay, there are jellyfish but these are harmless and almost tame! I would thoroughly recommend a holiday to this part of Greece as it is so unspoilt.
