(just my own unscientific observation of the water feel and appearance)
My family and I enjoy the water when it is crystal clear, and cool
instead of warm. We don' like to see any visible floating particles
of any kind
or algae settled
on the beach.

Topless sunbathing is not common

Notes
Very long sandy beach. Organized with life guards on duty during
part of the day.
There are certain spots of the beach that get very crowded like
in front of the Nikopolis Club, but overall the vast sandy beach
allows the crowds do be distributed comfortably.
Nice pine forest area frames the beach.
