Kato Gatzea Beach

The southern end of Kato Gatzea beach is considerably less crowded

Location

Near Volos, Magnesia, Greece (Western part of Pelion Peninsula)

Beach Name

Kato Gatzea

Overall Rating

3=good beach, would choose it for swimming among other beaches if we were in the area. If we were visiting the area we would consider this beach a good place to swim.

Beach

S=sand (sandy beach)

Sea Floor

S=sand (sandy beach)

Water

3= Very nice and clean sea. We would go swimming there again if we were in the area

(These are my, and my family's own unscientific observations of the water feel and appearance)
We enjoy the water when it is crystal clear, and cool instead of warm. We don' like visible floating particles of any kind or algae settled on the beach.

Clothing

Topless sunbathing is not common

Access

Good=paved road all the way to the beach, parking near the beach

Access to the beach is from the northern end. You can park your car on the narrow road and walk over the rocky headland (footpath). Direct access to the beach is blocked by the campground that comes all the way down to the sand.

Amenities

CA=camping on the beach

RV / Camper Accessibility

C= Organized Camping

Snorkeling

N=does not look promising, I did not dive
