Kala Nera Beach

Kala Nera beach

Location

Magnesia, near Volos. Located at the western end of Pelion peninsula

Beach Name

Kala Nera

Overall Rating

2=good beach, could go for swimming again if we happened to be in the area, though it would not be our first choice.

Beach

LP=Large pebbles

Sea Floor

LP=Large pebbles

Water

2= Nice sea, we had a nice swim but we did not notice anything special about the water

(These are my, and my family's own unscientific observations of the water feel and appearance)
We enjoy the water when it is crystal clear, and cool instead of warm. We don' like visible floating particles of any kind or algae settled on the beach.

Clothing

Topless sunbathing is not common

Access

Good=paved road all the way to the beach, parking near the beach

Amenities

R=restaurant (on the beach)
B=
bar (on the beach)
T=town within walking distance
O=
organized beach
CA=
camping on the beach
H=hotel on the beach

RV / Camper Accessibility

P= RV Room for Parking

Snorkeling

N=does not look promising, I did not dive

Notes

A long and narrow beach within comfortable distance from Volos. It is flanked by a busy street packed with restaurants and tourist shops. A large campground occupies the southern (and less crowded) end of the beach.
