Location
Achaia, Peloponnese (near Ancient Olympia)
Beach Name
Kaiafas
My Rating Overall
1=beach was fine for swimming and sunbathing
one time
Beach
S=sand (very very fine - sticks to everything)
Sea Floor
S=sand
Water
1=the sea water was not very inviting at the time
we visited. We did more sunbathing than swimming
(just my own unscientific observation of the water feel and appearance)
My family and I enjoy the water when it is crystal clear, and cool
instead of warm. We don' like to see any visible floating particles
of any kind
or algae settled
on the beach.
Clothing
Topless sunbathing is not common
Access
Good=paved road all the way to the beach, parking near
the beach
Amenities
R=restaurant (on the beach)
B=bar (on the beach)
RV / Camper Accessibility
O= Site suitable for free camping. Ample space
for parking on the beach vicinity.
Snorkeling
S=only sand
Notes
Kaiafas beach is vast and goes for miles. We did not enjoy our
swim there because the water had a layer of fine sand floating,
giving it a murky appearance.
The sand was so fine that stuck to everything we brought with
us.
The beach runs into Zaharo, and Kakovatos further south which
might be a better place to swim.
