| Agia Marina Beach |
Beach Name
Agia Marina
Location
Agia Marina, Aegina Island
Overall Rating
3 / 5 = Good beach, would choose it for swimming
among other beaches if we were in the area. If
we were visiting the area we would consider this
beach a good place to swim.
Beach
S = sand (sandy beach)
Sea Floor
S = sand (sandy beach)
Water
2 / 5 = Nice sea, we had a nice swim but we
did not notice anything special about the water
(These are my, and my family's own unscientific observations of
the water feel and appearance during our visit)
We enjoy the water when it is crystal clear, and cool instead of
warm. We don' like visible floating particles of any kind or algae
settled on the beach.
Access
Good = Paved road all the way to the beach, parking near the
beach
Amenities
T = Town within walking distance
RV / Camper Accessibility
Campers explicitly forbidden, or the site is unsuitable
for RV parking
Snorkeling
Does not look promising, I did not dive
Clothing
Topless sunbathing is not common
Notes
Agia Marina is arguably the best beach of Aegina Island, although in itself it would not be enough to make Aegina a holiday destination. It is near the ancient temple of Aphaia, and as such it could be the first port of call for those who visit Aegina for this exquisite ancient ruin.
The beach is made of soft sand and it is very shallow throughout, making it an ideal place for small children. The way it is crowded by hotels and parasols however, does not make the scenery very attractive.
