Why your support is needed

We all take for granted the fact that we can find free information on the web at any time. One of the issues that always escapes us is the fact that maintaining a web site with authoritative information costs a great deal of money.

I was not aware how expensive maintaining a web site could be, until my web traffic grew to the point where my hosting company asked me to pay extra for the data (files, images, pages) that an increasing amount of visitors were viewing. I did not mind paying the monthly fee to support my site, but I could not possibly afford to pay the extra fees that began running in the hundreds of dollars every month.

Eventually, my old hosting company shut down this site because our many visitors used too many of the host's server resources. The result was that I was forced to sign up with an even more expensive host for GreekLandscapes.

While this site maintains a quality level often found on commercial sites, the fact remains that it is the product of love and labor of one person (and the editing skills of his lovely and patient wife :)
